Toys for Animal Lovers!

Discovery Kids has a great line of educational toys which includes Smart Animals. If you love animals like me then this is the toy for you! Smart Animals works with Scanopedia, the "electronic talking animal encyclopedia" (also from Discovery Kids). When a Scanopedia scans any of the 200+ Smart Animals, it tells you facts about the animal and even makes the animal's sound!

I like this toy because I'm an animal lover so to expand my knowledge of the animals I love is great. The prices range from $4.99 to $29.99 and are available at stores like Toys R Us.

Start Your Engines!

Over the last few days I've had a chance to preview new GX Racers- superfast stunt cars with interchangeable bodies and engines! They are so cool because of all the speed packed into it's little body.

To use these action-packed racers you put the "ripcord" into the slot in the top of your car, pull it out and watch them go! The racers speed around your house doing spins and flips and also go offroad but that's the least of the big things these little cars do. You can get track sets to make them perform even more extreme tricks. With the GX Super Jump you can make them jump up to 10 feet high and with Tight Rope Terror, they speed over a tight rope, just to name a couple. What other race car can do that?

GX Racers are available at a toy store near you for $5.99 for a Speed Assortment or a multi-pack for $11.99. Also available will be GX Racers Skate and skate park sets.

I liked this toy because of the insane speed that I've never seen in such a small body. Like my grandma used to tell me, "Sometimes big things come in small packages." Check it out!

In Your Fun Face Fun

Crayola 3-D Chalk is a fun outdoor chalk that brings your artwork to life. I liked the bright and bold colors and the chalk popped out so much that I almost felt like I was in my drawing. I never knew chalk could be in 3-D until Crayola came along with this cool product and took chalk to another level.

Crayola 3-D Chalk can be used anywhere you use regular sidewalk chalk and it washes away with water. This toy is for kids ages four and up and is available at Toys R Us for $9.99 or you can win it here!

The Color's of Creativity

Over the last couple of weeks The Junior Journalists have been exploring our creativity with Crayola Sidewalk Chalk and Color Wonder products. Crayola was nice enough to send us Color Blenders Chalk ($4.99) that easily washes away with a garden hose. The colors blended together smoothly as opposed to the other leading chalk brands. You are able to use this chalk on the sidewalk or driveway. This is for children ages 4 and up. You will like this toy because they come in cool shapes, the colors are bright and they wash away easily- your mom and dad will like that part!

Mega Cool Microscope

I've been reviewing The Discovery Kids Macro Microscope. It's a microscope with a 10x, 30x, and 40x zoom, and two light settings which allow to you see microscopic organisms the human eye can't normally see. I like the fact that you have 3 lenses to choose from and zoom in on your subject, depending on it's size.

This microscope comes with cells and organisms to look at as well as brine shrimp eggs that you can grow and observe from the time they hatch. It also includes materials to make your own slides out of household items. I made a slide out of a tomato and got to see it's cells up close. Pretty cool!

If you're into science like I am, you will love this microscope. It is available at The Discovery Store ($79.95). Or enter to win here! Get your parent's permission and comment below once per day through July 7, 2009. At 12:01pm on July 7, 2009, one (1) lucky winner will be randomly selected to receive a Discovery Fashion Design Studio. You must be age 8-13 and live in the United States to win. Passion for Fashion

I got to check out the Discovery Fashion Design Studio from The Discovery Store ($34.95). It is a cool fashion design kit with fabrics and sewing tools to make beautiful doll-sized dresses. It shows you how to design from scratch, starting with step-by-step instructions for drawing sketches.

This was the first time I had ever sewn so it was hard at first but I got the hang of it without much help (my mom showed me how to measure the fabric). I had a lot of fun and can't wait to get more fabric!
